How ForumForge handles account, enquiry, billing, licence, security, and community-related information.

ForumForge may collect account details, contact information, billing details, enquiry form submissions, technical logs, licence and activation data (including bound domains, instance identifiers, validation timestamps, and related request metadata), abuse or piracy reports, and product usage information needed to provide, secure, support, licence, and improve the service.
We use information to respond to enquiries, provide product access, process billing, support customers, enforce licences, detect and investigate piracy or unauthorised copies, prevent abuse and unlawful use (including suspected use for illegal goods or other serious crime), improve the product, and communicate important account or service updates. Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on appropriate lawful bases such as contract, legitimate interests, legal obligation, or consent.
We may operate public or partner-facing tools that check whether a reported domain or URL appears to have a valid ForumForge licence. Those checks use licence activation records and return limited results (for example, whether a domain is licensed). They are not intended to expose keys, secrets, payment details, or personal customer files. We may also log check requests to prevent abuse of the checker itself.
Customers control the forum content, member information, permissions, and moderation data inside their own communities. Customers are responsible for telling their members how their community handles personal information and for meeting their own obligations under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Where we host a community, we act as a processor or service provider for that community data as described in the applicable agreement, except where we must process information to secure the platform, enforce these policies, or comply with law.
We do not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate ForumForge, process payments, host infrastructure, provide support, or comply with legal obligations. We may also disclose information to law enforcement, courts, or regulators where required or permitted by law — including investigations into piracy, intellectual-property infringement, fraud, illegal goods, or other serious unlawful activity involving ForumForge.
ForumForge may use cookies, session storage, and technical logs to keep users signed in, protect accounts, diagnose issues, remember preferences, understand product reliability, and support security and licence-enforcement monitoring.
Customers may connect payment, authentication, email, analytics, or hosting providers. Those services may process data under their own terms, and customers should configure integrations in a way that matches their privacy obligations.
Information is kept only as long as needed for product operation, legal, security, billing, licence enforcement, abuse investigation, or support purposes. Licence, security, and investigation records may be retained longer where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. We use reasonable safeguards to protect data, but no system can be made completely risk-free.
Where UK data protection law applies, individuals may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or request portability of their personal information. Those rights may be limited where disclosure would prejudice crime prevention, legal claims, or our ability to enforce licences and security. Customers and users can contact ForumForge about privacy requests, and they may also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
